What You Will Do 

As a member of the Education Sales team, this position will have strategic and tactical responsibility for growing sales in their territory. Responsibilities include building Sphero’s education sales, working directly with educational institutions, internal operations, marketing and product teams. 

Location: Northeast (CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, RI, VT)

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day activities: opportunity, quote creation, follow-up, territory development, outreach, customer development.
  • Accurately predict sales forecast for the respective region. Track and manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets and report the progress.
  • Help build the EDU North American sales network in a specified territory, develop relationships and optimize marketing and outreach programs to maximize growth potential. 
  • Ability to identify key districts and schools, prioritize, and expand Sphero’s products and services systematically throughout the respective territory. 
  • Successfully execute your quarterly objectives at no less than 75% annually. 
  • Experience selling and negotiating with C-level executive and/or State administrative offices.
  • Form key relationships and strong communication with marketing, business systems, operations, finance, and customer success teams. 
  • Identify and qualify leads, make sales presentations, provide training and customer follow up.
  • Oversees business development initiatives including establishing and managing relationships with key strategic educational institutions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years related educational sales experience with proven track record meeting and exceeding quotas and goals.
  • Understanding of the primary and secondary education markets in the United States. 
  • Proven ability to maneuver and be successful as an educational sales driver with demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding quarterly and yearly revenue goals.
  • Strong existing relationships within the education market with a proven ability to target and support key accounts.
  • Ability to analyze the marketing, competitors and company strengths and weaknesses.
  • Prior experience negotiating and managing contractual arrangements, RFIs and RFPs.
  • Ability to travel ~30% of the time within territory.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce as a CRM. Effective and influential verbal, written, electronic communication and presentations skills.
  • Respecting others' time, opinions and process identified by individuals and/or other teams.

  • While sipping on a warm beverage, start going through emails to ensure all your correspondence with educators and other customers or potential customers are responded to
  • Reach out to your Sales Development Rep to see if there are questions or leads or if you can offer any support
  • Review salesforce opportunity pipeline
  • Review any upcoming events and ensure that travel and such is planned
  • Check your Slack for any communications and respond accordingly with appropriate information
  • Take a brief walk in the sunshine to find a bench to sit on and eat your sandwich lunch
  • Collaborate with your team on leads
  • Attend customer meetings to change their lives in the classroom
  • Close to dinner time! Connect with team to communicate any questions or updates you may have (you are encouraged to do this throughout the day)

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $141,000 OTE. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
