What You Will Do

We are looking to build out our Inside Sales in Education with a Sales Development Representative. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, driven, organized and passionate about education. As a member of the Sphero team, this position will have strategic and tactical responsibility for delivering key account results, growing our long-term relationships, and building a world-class team. This position reports directly to the Head of Education Partnerships, West.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect leads in CRM (Salesforce), use email campaigns to inform outside sales reps opportunities. 
  • Identify qualified decision makers, build an effective pipeline, and schedule meetings for the Sphero sales team.
  • Sell Sphero Education products to current and new clients.
  • Develop sales strategies to increase client pipeline.
  • Consistently meet/exceed sales quotas within specified time frame.
  • Work on ISD approved vendor paperwork part-time and follow-up on inquiries.
  • Navigate company structures to get past gatekeepers and influence decision makers.
  • Maintain detailed records in Salesforce.
  • Identify and Fill out new RFPs.
  • Occasionally, support Sales reps at Tradeshows or Symposiums.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of Sales and/or K-12 Education experience.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and education.
  • Influential and effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Is strategic-minded. Will understand a strategy that is put forward, while remaining flexible, and is excited to share new, outside the box, thoughtful ideas, based on data driven analysis.
  • Goal Oriented. You are motivated by quotas and determined to meet quarterly team sales goals.
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and the ability to move inbound inquiries across a sales funnel and up-sell.
  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to initiate and further conversations with new and existing leads, co-sell, and pass those leads to outside reps.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to do detailed needs analysis and proposal development.
  • Must be located in AZ, CO, NV, UT, WA, or WY.
  • This role is fully remote and will require travel about once per quarter.
  • Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

A Day in the Life

  • Spring out of bed knowing that you get to support kids learning today!
  • Check Slack to see what is happening in the company and who has posted the cutest pic of their pet
  • Check your calendar for the day’s agenda
  • While sipping on a warm beverage, start going through emails to ensure all your correspondence with educators and other customers or potential customers are responded to
  • Reach out to your Sales Rep to see what the areas of focus are for the day/week
  • Review leads from a variety of systems and take any necessary action (Contact a Rep, MQL to SQL, Webinar leads and Shopify, etc)
  • Fill out any vendor forms and complete RFPs
  • Check your Slack for any communications and respond accordingly with appropriate information
  • Take a brief walk in the sunshine to find a bench to sit on and eat your sandwich lunch
  • Research leads and collaborate with your team on those and other leads
  • Facilitate and answer questions for customers
  • Jump on a customer call with a Sales Rep to observe and support as needed
  • Close to dinner time! Connect with team to communicate any questions or updates you may have (you are encouraged to do this throughout the day)
  • Sign off to spend time doing what makes you happy! Balance is important.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $53,000.00-$64,000.00 OTE ($46,000.00-$57,000.00 base with the $7,000.00 commission). Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
